I was lucky enough to be one of the acts performing at the 2017 Canning Show. The show was great fun and the staff were fantastic to work with. There were great activities for people of all ages, including big kids such as myself!
It’s a privilege to be part of the Canning Show as the prime cooking judge and sponsor of the young Rising Chef award for the past 10 years. Each year I see improvements in the overall standard of entries especially in the Home Cooking under 12 category. As a society we are losing the ability to make anything from scratch. The Canning show is a testament that people from all walks of life can come together, get inspired and share their particular handcraft skills. Come and get inspired, don’t just say maybe next year! Join in, be a part of the show then the whole community benefits.
The Canning Show has been providing the residents of Cannington and surrounding suburbs with agricultural, horticultural and history for more than 100 years. Annually, we are amazed by the talents of the community members who exhibit, flowers, fruits, vegetables, cooking, craft and it also allows our youth to showcase their skills in song and dance. The photography and art exhibitions are very popular and the Lions Club of Canning City is very proud to sponsor the Youth Awards.
The Canning Show is one of the highlights of our calendar as it offers an excellent opportunity to showcase the craft of Woodturning to the people of the city of Canning and surrounding communities.
