2024 Exhibition launches online entries with $20,000 prizepool
A certified fave Perth event, the award-winning, record-breaking, unique family-friendly festival CANNING SHOW returns in 2024, with more venues, more space, more entertainment, and MORE FUN…
Better than just having fun at the Show – YOU can also be one of the reasons why others enjoy it, responsible for people leaving filled with inspiration and admiration. Yes, everyone’s invited to enter the Canning Show Exhibition.
The fun competition celebrates, promotes, rewards, and encourages diverse passions, talents, and first-time attempts, plus aims to inspire others in the community with just how easy it is to have a go.
Providing a creative wonderland with a community heart, the Canning Show makes it easy for anyone to ignite their creativity, learn and practise new skills, or showcase their existing talents, whilst potentially being rewarded.
From 2 to 100-year-olds, we can’t wait to showcase thousands of Canning Show Exhibition entries!
CANNING SHOW EXHIBITION 2024:
CANNING SHOW 2024 expands again including MORE FREE FUN, and we’re also thrilled to announce the Exhibition has expanded too!
This special Exhibition is one of WA’s largest and most accessible annual showcases of its kind, providing the perfect platform for amateurs to show off, learn or enjoy a wide array of arts, crafts, hobbies, creations, garden produce.
With 650+ classes for everyone to enter, a few changes to get excited about this year include:
- The earliest we have ever had online entries open, giving you time to fill your winter with creativity and planning your exhibits for the spring 2024 Canning Show!
- Expansion of People’s Choice Awards, with 6 new Camelid-themed classes, each awarding a $100 cash prize to the exhibits in each class that receives the most votes from Canning Show attendees. Voting boxes will be open for all 3 sessions of the Show, nearby the relevant exhibits.
- An extra $1,000 of NEW prizes will be awarded, thanks to key sponsor Westfield Carousel. Look for quirky chances to win money by baking scones, making a recycling artwork piece or one of the other special ‘Bonus Prizes’ on offer.
- These are additional to an increased major prize pool of around $14,000 in cash prizes on offer.
- Share in a prize pool now totaling around $20,000 in value!
- By popular demand, David Austin Roses classes have been added to the Flowers section.
- Overhaul of Painting & Drawing section, including 5 new classes on offer covering water colour and acrylic work.
- Photography exhibits move to the new Canning Agricultural Pavilion, providing more space for more entries and better showcasing of exhibits.
- Key dates and the word version of the Schedule are available to view and download via Showday online – click the ‘Documents’ tab. The full Exhibition Info/Schedule of entries will also be available ASAP, in both online and printed formats.
KEY FEATURES SUMMARIZED:
- One of WA’s largest annual exhibitions of its kind, showcasing a wide array of arts, crafts, hobbies, creations and produce.
- Online entries make entering easy (though printed entry forms and Schedules also available soon).
- ANYONE can enter, no matter where you are from, your age or level of experience. However, most classes are for amateurs only, the competition focusing on celebrating, promoting, rewarding and encouraging diverse interests, passions, talents and efforts, plus inspiring others in diverse communities. There are a couple of professional sections as well, awarding talented artisans.
- Around $14,000 in cash prizes rewarded to the best exhibits, plus trophies, sashes, award certificates, special prizes and more.
- Exhibition Champions receive a complimentary free invite to an exclusive, gala dinner Exhibition Awards event on Saturday 16 November.
- Entries still only $1 (Youth) / $2 (Adults).
- Over 650 Classes to enter, covering Youth; Fruit & Vegetables; Flowers; Home & Dairy Produce; Honey; Home Cooking; Sewing, Knitting, Crochet, Toys & Dolls; Handicrafts; Hobby Ceramics; Painting & Drawing; Photography; and Industrial Arts.
- Expanded number of People’s Choice Awards (voted by the public), offering $100 bonus rewards in seven special classes celebrating a Camelids theme (camels, alpacas, llamas etc).
- Unless breaking any By-Laws, ALL entries are exhibited as part of the Canning Show Exhibition; it’s by and for the community.
- Independently judged by experts in their field.
- Your entries are anonymous, unless you win a prize where your name will be revealed so you can revel in the admiration.
- You can enter new or old creations/produce, as long as it hasn’t won a prize before.
HOW TO ENTER:
- We encourage people to enter online. It’s easier and quicker, plus you can better keep track of your Exhibition entries and results – not just this year but also previous ones.

- For most classes (except for cooking, fruit and veg, plants etc), first deadline is for entry forms to be submitted by Friday 20 October
- Can email completed entry forms to admin@cahrs.com.au or drop off in person at Cannington Exhibition Centre during Mon-Fri 9.30am-4.30pm
