2025 CANNING SHOW EXHIBITION RESULTS

The 2025 Canning Show is officially over for another year, welcoming over 11,000 people through the gates! Families enjoyed a Show packed with more free activities for kids than any previous year, making it an unmissable community highlight. Once again, the Exhibition component proved its dominance, cementing its place as one of the best in the state, with over 2,600 people entering a class to showcase their skills.

The Exhibition Awards  on Saturday 15th November saw the best of the best exhibitors awarded for these efforts, with trophies, sashes and certificates handed out, on top of the $19,000+ in cash prizes that went to the best exhibits. The dinner affair for distinguished guests, award-winning exhibitors and CAHRS committee, members, volunteers, and staff – many of them arriving dressed in. This year’s awards were an amazing showcase of the community’s creativity and talent, in which the applause was loud as the best exhibit and exhibitors were awarded.

Officially announced at the Awards, save the date for the  Canning Show 2026: Currently set for Fri 7 November & Sat 8 November!

Next year’s theme will be “Growing in the orchard”

Look closely at the orchard! Be inspired by the colours, flavours and textures you see, or explore the simple, secret ways things grow. The rough, gnarled bark, the split-second of a falling fruit or the buzzing life in the blossoms.

George Wilson Centenary Perpetual Trophy For Most Points Overall

This is our most prestigious award, honouring George Wilson, the very first CAHRS President, who served for an incredible 42 years (1909–1951). It celebrates the exhibitor with the highest total points across all sections this year.

Brad Lewis-McKnight

Coming in first place, Brad Lewis-McKnight again received top honours, winning the George H Wilson Perpetual Award for the exhibitor with the most points gained from placements overall, for the fourth year in a row. Brad entered classes in Flowers, Fruit & Vegetables, Herbs, Home & Dairy Produce, Home Cooking, and Photography, amassing a tally of  163 exhibits and 454 points.

Kenneth E Clark Centenary Perpetual Trophy

This award honours the generous legacy of Kenneth E. Clark, the CAHRS president from 1973-2001, and recognises the most outstanding exhibit of fruit and vegetables in this year’s Show

Dianne Begg Perpetual Trophy For Best Exhibit in Herbs

Awarded for Excellence in Herb Cultivation: Celebrating the innovation of the urban gardener and the beauty of small-space farming in the Canning Region.

Brad Lewis-McKnight

Noel & Lurlene Dawkins Centenary Perpetual Trophy For Best Exhibit in Flowers Established to honor the profound legacy of Noel and Lurlene Dawkins. Noel served the Canning community for over three decades, guiding its transformation from a small road board to a thriving City. This centenary award recognises the best floral exhibit.

Ann Kosick

The Agricultural Commission (beekeepers) Centenary Perpetual Trophy

This award generously donated by the Commission recognises the exhibitor who achieved the highest total points in the Honey section this year.

Charles Treasure Centenary Perpetual Trophy For Best Exhibit in Home & Dairy Produce

This award celebrates Charles Treasure’s dedication, particularly his time as CAHRS President from 1951 to 1958. It recognises the most outstanding exhibit across Home and Dairy Produce.

Ernest & Joan Clark Centenary Perpetual Trophy For Best Exhibit in Home Cooking

This trophy celebrates the dedication of both Ernst and Joan Clark, particularly honouring Ernst Clark’s leadership as CAHRS President from 1958 to 1973. It recognises the most outstanding Home Cooking exhibit this year.

Jennifer Outram Centenary Perpetual Trophy For Best Exhibit in Sewing, Knitting, Crochet, Toys & Dolls

This award honours Jennifer Outram extraordinary commitment, having been involved with the Canning Show for over 50 years. Recognising the most outstanding exhibit across Sewing, Knitting, Crochet, Toys & Dolls this year.

Thomas W Hammond Centenary Perpetual Trophy For Best Exhibit Handicrafts

This trophy honours Thomas W. Hammond’s pivotal service as the Show’s Secretary for 22 years (1926–1948). It recognises the most outstanding exhibit in the Handicrafts section this year.

James O’Donnell Centenary Perpetual Trophy For Best Exhibit Ceramics

This trophy honours James O’Donnell’s service to the Canning Show Committee, where he served from 1971 to 1975. It recognises the most outstanding exhibit across all Ceramics entries this year.

Richard Liddelow Centenary Perpetual Trophy For Best Exhibit Industrial Arts

This trophy celebrates Richard Liddelow’s extensive and dedicated service to the CAHRS Committee, where he served for over three decades, from 1954 to 1985. It honours the most outstanding exhibit in Industrial Arts this year.
