CANNING SHOW is returning for 2025, and we’re also thrilled to announce the Exhibition is here!
This special Exhibition is one of WA’s largest and most accessible annual showcases of its kind, providing the perfect platform for amateurs to show off, learn or enjoy a wide array of arts, crafts, hobbies, creations, garden produce.
With 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝟲𝟱𝟬+ 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀 for 𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗬𝗢𝗡𝗘 to enter, a few changes to get excited about this year include:
Youth
- New 8 & Under Cooking section.
- New biscuits added for 9–12 and 13–17 years.
- New Savoury Scroll class (13–17 yrs).
Adults
- Fruit & Veg: Overall points winner gets a ribbon.
- Flowers: Gerbera “New Vogue” added.
- Herbs: Stem expectations defined.
- Horticultural Council Awards: Rules added for Geraniums, Pelargoniums & Hanging Containers. Ribbons awarded at Presentation Evening.
Home & Dairy Produce
- Preserves split into Preserves & Conserves.
- New class: Flavoured Yoghurt.
- Wines removed; new Honey classes added.
Home Cooking
- Baking class numbers refreshed; new classes include Banana Bread, Sweet Filled Pie, ANZAC & Choc Chip Biscuits.
- Cake Decorating adds Sugar Art Topper & Floral Display.
Sewing, Knitting, Crochet, Toys & Dolls
- Updated definitions for Accessories, Socks, Gloves, etc.
Handicrafts
- Clearer expectations for Glasswork & Scrapbooking.
- New classes: Decorative Pebble/Sea Glass Picture, Miniature Kit.
- Folk Art is now a standalone class.
- New section: People With Disability.
Photography
- New Agriculture class in all sections.

ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
The fun competition celebrates, promotes, rewards, and encourages diverse passions, talents and first time attempts, plus aims to inspire others in the community with just how easy it is to have a go.
Providing a creative wonderland with community heart, the Canning Show makes it easy for anyone to ignite their creativity, learn and practise new skills, or showcase their existing talents, whilst potentially being rewarded.
From 2 to 100 year olds, we can’t wait to showcase thousands of Canning Show Exhibition entries!
A few key features summarized:
- One of WA’s largest annual exhibitions of its kind, showcasing a wide array of arts, crafts, hobbies, creations and produce.
- Online entries make entering easy (though printed entry forms and Schedules also available soon).
- ANYONE can enter, no matter where you are from, your age or level of experience. However, most classes are for amateurs only, the competition focusing on celebrating, promoting, rewarding and encouraging diverse interests, passions, talents and efforts, plus inspiring others in diverse communities. There are a couple of professional sections as well, awarding talented artisans.
- Around $19,000 in cash prizes rewarded to the best exhibits, plus trophies, sashes, award certificates, special prizes and more.
- Exhibition Champions receive a complimentary invite to an exclusive, gala dinner Exhibition Awards event on Saturday 16 November.
- Entries still only $1 (Youth) / $2 (Adults).
- Over 650 Classes to enter, covering Youth; Fruit & Vegetables; Flowers; Home & Dairy Produce; Honey; Home Cooking; Sewing, Knitting, Crochet, Toys & Dolls; Handicrafts; Hobby Ceramics; Painting & Drawing; Photography; and Industrial Arts.
- Expanded number of People’s Choice Awards (voted by the public), offering $100 bonus rewards in seven special classes celebrating a Cooperative theme (with a hint of Halloween).
- Unless breaking any By-Laws, ALL entries are exhibited as part of the Canning Show Exhibition; it’s by and for the community.
- Independently judged by experts in their field.
- Your entries are anonymous, unless you win a prize where your name will be revealed so you can revel in the admiration.
- You can enter new or old creations/produce, as long as it hasn’t won a prize before.

- For most classes (except for cooking, fruit and veg, plants etc), first deadline is for entry forms to be submitted by Friday 20 October
- Can email completed entry forms to admin@cahrs.com.au or drop off in person at Cannington Exhibition Centre during Mon-Fri 9.30am-4.30pm
- Drop-off of exhibits closer to the Show (refer to Schedule Of Entries)
