Welcome to the soul of the Canning Show! As one of WA’s largest and most accessible exhibitions, our event is a creative wonderland for every member of our community.

While the Exhibition has evolved—from its 1892 roots as a Wildflower Show to the 1909 Official Agricultural Show that served market gardeners and dairymen – our mission remains unchanged: bringing people together. Today, while we no longer host livestock, the spirit of competition thrives through over 650 classes ranging from cooking and crochet to woodwork, photography, and painting.

Special Class: People’s Choice 2026

Theme: Growing in the Orchard!

In addition to our regular judged classes, the People’s Choice is a special category where the public gets to vote for their favourite exhibit right at the Show!

Be inspired by the orchard: Look closely at the colours, flavors, and textures. Explore the gnarled bark of an old tree, the split-second of falling fruit, or the buzzing life in the blossoms. Whether through a lens, a paintbrush, or a craft, show us how you see the orchard.

We are currently finalising the 2026 Schedule of Entries. Whether you are a master craftsman, a hobbyist, or a first-time competitor, there is a place for you. Full information and the official 2026 Schedule of Entries will be released soon.

Sewing, Knitting & Crochet: Including machine sewing, hand embroidery, quilting, patchwork, and machine knitting.
Toys & Dolls: Hand-crafted toys and beautifully dressed dolls.

Art & Design

Painting & Drawing: Fine arts, mixed media, and illustration.
Photography: Dedicated categories for both professional and non-professional photographers.
Hobby Ceramics: Specific classes for students, amateurs, and professionals.

Horticulture & Home Produce

Flowers & Plants: From prize-winning blooms to unique potted displays.
Home & Dairy Produce: Celebrate the harvest with preserves, conserves, eggs, honey, dairy, and home brew.
Home Cooking: Everything from traditional baking, savory bakes, and fresh bread to spectacular decorated cakes.

Handicrafts & Industrial Arts

Handicrafts: A massive variety including jewellery, china painting, glass, scrapbooking, card making, textiles, diamond dot, Lego, and mosaics.
Industrial Arts: Honouring traditional skills in leatherwork, metalwork, and woodwork.
