The Royal Agricultural Society of WA has invited all affiliated societies – including our not-for-profit Canning Agricultural, Horticultural & Recreational Society (Inc), which runs the Canning Show – to nominate an artist to participate in the newly revamped Agricultural Affiliated Societies Art Award 2024.
The selected artist will exhibit their artwork at the 2024 Perth Royal Show, which will be held from Saturday 21 September to Saturday 28 September 2024 inclusive. The Agricultural Affiliated Societies Art Award (formerly the Country Artists’ Award) is free to enter, and artists have the chance of winning a share in $2,500 prize money.
All you now need to do is enter your artwork in Canning Show Exhibition 2023 as you would any other entries (more info here).
If you are selected as a winner in any of the art-related classes in Canning Show, and are from the Canning catchment area, you will then have a chance to have your artwork automatically exhibited at next year’s Perth Royal Show, and have a chance to win some big rewards, as follows:
Total Prize Pool: $2,500 (Non-Acquisitive)
First Prize – $2000 | Runner Up – $500
Highly Commended – There may be more than one Highly Commended rosette awarded for work considered to be of a high quality.
Plus, you can also put your work up for sale at the Royal, presenting a unique opportunity for all those selected, without having to do anything extra!
You will be notified if you have been selected, after Canning Show, and more info will follow.
Best of luck to all drawers, painters and mixed artists!
