Last year saw the LiveLighter Canning Show enjoy record-breaking crowds plus receive numerous prestigious accolades, including winning the Active Citizenship Award as part of the Community Citizen of the Year Awards presented by the City of Canning, and an award “In Appreciation of the Extraordinary Effort” of the Canning Show by the Western Australian Showmen’s Association (WASA). We would like to thank all of our dedicated volunteers and staff who are involved and helped us making last year’s Canning Show a successful event, as well as all of our attendees. Now, we’re readying to take things to the next level…
2021, GET READY!
Off the back of these and exceptionally positive feedback from audiences, we are inspired to plan an even better show for 2021. This year’s Canning Show will be held on:
Friday 5 & Saturday 6 November 2021
Mark these dates in the calendar for an amazing, fun-filled event for all-ages. More information about this year’s show will be on the way soon, including limited free tickets for those quick enough to jump on them. If you want to have a glimpse of what the show will look like, click here.
ENTER THE EXHIBITION ONLINE
We’re excited this year to also be launching online entries for the first time ever, opening things up even further for people to showcase their talents and have a chance at winning $15,000 in prizes. Whilst people can still enter the same ways they have in the past, this year we will be allowing people to enter online with a fully automated platform, enabling you to simply enter, pay, adjust and track online. This will help make it easier than ever to give it a go and exhibit something at the Show to wow all your friends and family!
EXHIBITION SPECIAL CLASS THEMES
This year will be ‘Fruit & Vegetable’ themed for a range of special classes in the Exhibition. Our CEO Dianne Begg stated, “This year we find ourselves living in the ‘International Year of Fruits and Vegetables’ and encourage our future exhibitors to plan ahead for this year’s show, just like urban farmers who are already starting to plan their planting or harvest days.”
JOIN THE TEAM
We are also looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Events Management Assistant/s who would like to help us in organising for this year’s show, as well as assisting in other events that are happening within Cannington Exhibition Centre & Showgrounds. Detailed info about this position is listed here, with this volunteer role providing an exceptional opportunity to add to your CV and skills with meaningful educational experiences, whilst having fun doing it!
Stay tuned, we’ll be announcing more very shortly…
